The “ Diagnosis Announcement ” project, as part of the National Cancer Plan 2 (PNC2) under axis 3 - Patients' Rights, Information and Training, aims to improve the experience of patients and their families during one of the most important moments in the care process: the announcement of a cancer diagnosis. It aims to ensure that this announcement is made in a caring, clear and reassuring way, respecting patients' emotional and information needs while fostering trust between patients and healthcare professionals.
As part of this project, we conducted 42 individual interviews (Patients, Relatives and Healthcare Professionals) between May and July 2024. This report presents the results of these interviews!
The structure of the report is original and distinguished by its presentation:
- Summary of key points: Each chapter begins with a summary of the main benefits and challenges identified, facilitating quick reference.
- Analysis: Next, an in-depth analysis of the data collected is presented, giving an overview of needs and expectations.
- Testimonials: Finally, extracts from interviews with patients, their families and healthcare professionals are included to provide a human and concrete perspective.
